New extension (exterior)
Protruding at right angles to the main building to form an attractive rear courtyard, this extension houses a utility room, downstairs bathroom and subterranean wine cellar. Green oak was used for the roof timbers allowing for a 'galleried' storage space above the new rooms. Attention to detail ran to the use of hand cut bricks along the roof gable and gable end and hand made nails in the timber construction.

The door pictured is a 'one off' hand-made item in oak which adds to the individuality of the property as does the bronze outdoor light.

New extension (interior)
The wine cellar (far left) maintains correct ambient temperature at all times through the nature of its design.

Also pictured is the useful storage space in the roof, demonstrating that practicality need not be at the expense of aesthetics.
